Transportation from Ridgefield, CT
New York City commuters find the Katonah station convenient and the train ride shorter, although parking is limited. Many Ridgefielders prefer to use the convenient in town shuttle to the Katonah station offered by HART, see link below for schedule. For better parking options, Goldens Bridge, one stop north of Katonah, is another frequently used station for Ridgefielders. Another option if you reside in Northern Ridgefield is Purdy’s. Ticket machines are available. The fare to GCT from both stations is $11.50 one-way peak, $8.75 one-way off-peak, $251 monthly. You can choose to use the Branchville train station off Route 7 in Ridgefield, located about five minutes down Branchville Road from the center of Ridgefield, see link below for Metro-North New Haven line train schedule. There are machines to buy tickets. Ticket prices to New York City are: $14.25 one-way peak, $10.75 one-way off-peak, $308 monthly. There is a wheelchair ramp to the platform. The station is served by Westport Star Taxi (227-3063). Call in advance.
Transportation from Wilton, CT
Wilton has two stations, both of which are on Metro-North’s Danbury Line (New Haven Line). The Wilton Station is a few hundred yards from Center Street near the intersection of Route 7 and 33. Cannondale Station is on Cannon Road, just off Route 7 and adjoining the Cannondale Village Shopping Center. There are no ticket machines and no staffed ticket office. Parking at Wilton and Cannondale is the province of the town (563-0100). The Branchville Station is off Route 7 in Ridgefield, less than a mile from the Wilton border. Tickets bought before boarding the train to Grand Central cost $13.50 one-way peak, $10 one-way off peak. A monthly commutation ticket $292.
Transportation from Redding, CT
Redding’s only station is the Redding station on Long Ridge Road, a couple of minutes from Route 53. It is 58.5 miles to Grand Central Terminal. It has full ADA access, but no ticket machines or windows. One-way peak fare to Grand Central is $14.25, one-way off peak is $10.75, monthly commutation is $308. An annual parking permit is $250; daily fee is $5. Annual parking permits (as available) can be purchased Monday through Saturday at the recycling center or ordered at the town clerk’s office during regular business hours. The Branchville station in Ridgefield on Portland Avenue off Route 7 is a few minutes from Route 107 and Georgetown. It is 54 miles to Grand Central Terminal. The fares are the same as from West Redding. There is a wheelchair ramp to the platform; no ticket machines. The town of Ridgefield handles parking.
